HoX (House of Xpressions) is a lifestyle and gifting supplier, featuring brands like Pokémon, Minecraft, Sonic, Peppa Pig, Cocomelon, Xbox, and Squishmallows. Their products can be found on the shelves of most of the UK's leading retailers, from Asda and Argos, to Clintons and TKMaxx.
Supplying to Asda was particularly complex. HoX had to work with weekly consumer sales and forecast data, supply both upfront and in-season orders, and plan against long 16-week lead times for short 26-week ranges. Promotions like Back-to-School required split intakes, while design refreshes meant running down old stock as new lines launched. On top of this, Asda expected around one week of inventory on hand at all times, all under strict SLAs - leaving little margin for error. All of this had to be balanced alongside other retailers, with equally stringent expectations, adding yet another layer of pressure to get replenishment exactly right.
To cope, HoX relied on a hyper-complex Excel model that only two people in the business fully understood - a fragile setup that created risk, bottlenecks, and stress in managing one of their most important accounts.
HoX chose Lumina to bring structure and automation to their seasonal planning and replenishment process.
"This gives us a really good view on our inventory, Asda's stock on hand, sales, replenishment needs." - Shreya Marar, Demand planner
Lumina gave HoX a clear, connected view from supplier manufacturing through to consumer demand - and the confidence that supply aligned with real market needs. With the Asda use case in place, HoX is now extending Lumina to support Amazon, Argos, and its long tail of smaller customers - setting the foundation for streamlined planning across the wider business.
Lumina replaced HoX’s fragile Excel model with a connected system tailored to their seasonal, retailer-driven business model. Leadership and planners now review exception reports rather than poring over spreadsheets line by line.
By removing manual processes and making exceptions clear, Lumina freed the HoX team to focus on serving their customers better. For Asda, that means reliable stock on shelves; for HoX, it means more time and energy to expand into new accounts.
